What Is the FASTag Annual Pass

Introduced by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and NHAI, this is a prepaid toll plan exclusively for private, non-commercial vehicles—namely cars, jeeps, and vans .

Available starting August 15, 2025 (Independence Day) .

Priced at ₹3,000 for one year.

Covers up to 200 toll trips on national highways and expressways, whichever limit is reached first .

After activation, your FASTag will automatically switch to this annual pass mode.

Validity & Usage Guidelines

Valid only on National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE); state highways and local roads continue on the regular FASTag system with per-trip charges .

Once you’ve used all 200 trips or the one year expires (whichever occurs first), the FASTag reverts to the usual pay-per-use mode. You’ll need to recharge with ₹3,000 again to restore the pass’s benefits .

Who’s Eligible?

Only private, non-commercial vehicles are eligible (cars, jeeps, vans). Commercial use results in automatic deactivation .

Your existing FASTag must be:

Active and properly affixed to the windshield

Linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN)

Not blacklisted .

The pass is non-transferable—if the vehicle changes, you can’t move the pass to another vehicle .

How to Activate or Purchase

1. Ensure your FASTag meets eligibility requirements.

2. Use one of the following:

3. Log in with your vehicle and FASTag details.

4. Pay ₹3,000 via UPI, net banking, or debit/credit cards.

5. Activation takes effect upon successful payment, usually on or after August 15, 2025 .
